Easter Code 2026
8th April 2026
The Wheel Trust team have been busy in the run up to Easter delivering interactive Easter Code sessions to Primary schools across the West End. We had a team of 13 Wheel Trust and SU staff and volunteers, who delivered 10 sessions in 7 different schools engaging with 288 children and staff.
We were delighted with the response and openness of the children and staff, and considered it a privilege to be able to interact and communicate the Gospel message with so many young people.
Please continue to pray for the seeds sown and continuing opportunities to communicate the Good News within our partner schools and beyond.

Flourish Update
23rd March 2026
Wheel Trust is proud to be a Flourish Hub for Glasgow West. We have a bank of trained staff and volunteers who are well-equipped to deliver the Flourish Project in schools. The Flourish Project is a 10-week wellbeing course that is highly effective in helping young people to develop a growth mindset, create helpful thinking patterns and enable the young person to start to understand their potential, realise future aspirations and set goals for the future.
- We currently have 8 weekly courses running in 4 Primary schools and 2 High schools in the West End of Glasgow reaching around 100 children every week.
- We have 5 workers who are currently involved in delivering courses, and 2 more youth workers who will be trained in May.
With the challenging mental health situation of so many young people today, we are passionate about delivering Flourish courses and are delighted at the meaningful conversations and thought-provoking discussions that we have with young people on a weekly basis.
Please continue to pray for this valuable work and the staff, volunteers and young people involved.

Welcome to our new Youth Worker:
Jonny Aitken
11th Feb 2026
We are delighted to welcome Jonny Aitken to the Wheel Trust as the recently appointed full-time Youth Worker. He has nearly 20 years’ experience volunteering as a youth worker and, in late 2024, made the decision to move from teaching into the role as employment.
Over the past three years, Jonny has been running Christian youth groups and youth camps, and he hopes to bring this mix of experience into schools across the west of Glasgow.
Jonny is a member of the Church of God in Glasgow, and in his free time he enjoys running, playing squash, and continuing to be involved in his church activities and youth events.
We asked Jonny some questions to get to know him better:
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Mostly running - I have my second marathon coming up in May!
What is your go-to comfort food?
Pepperoni pizza is the only food I could eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday if I was allowed.
One random fun fact about you?
I used to play 7 different instruments, but play 0 now!
If you could instantly learn a new skill, what would it be?
I would be able to speak all the languages - mostly so I could nosey on other people's conversations when they didn't think I could understand them!
Morning person or night owl?
Permanently tired pigeon.
What are you most looking forward to about your new role with Wheel Trust?
Working in schools with kids to help them grow in confidence, resilience and all the other good stuff. Also being able to share my faith in Jesus with those that show interest.

Christmas Unwrapped 2025
7th Jan 2026
In the last few weeks of 2025 the Christmas Unwrapped team which included Wheel Trust staff, volunteers and local church workers and partners, were able to visit 8 schools in the West End of Glasgow. They held 13 sessions and engaged with around 400 primary-aged children about the Christmas story and why Christians celebrate.
The sessions included stories, crafts, visual aids, role play and group discussion.
One of our volunteers said: “It was an amazing opportunity to share the birth of Jesus as a Christian openly with 66 children in a year group.”
One leader commented: “It helped build the relationship with the school” while another school was keen to book the team in to return for the Easter code later in the year.
Many teachers rated the workshops as “excellent” and were very impressed with the team and the engagement with the children.
